What is Wikang Filipino?
A country with its own language means that it is free. Language is their form of communication to understand each other. There are different languages in every area, community, and country. Wikang Filipino symbolizes the Filipino culture of who and what they are.
As time passes by, many words have been and will be discovered by Filipinos. The reason is the ever-increasing globalization and cultural integration. As a result, languages that our ancestors used and discovered are being replaced with new words that they are using in the present. It’s slowly and continuously dying that even our and future generation will not know.
The following are the uncommon words that Filipino’s rarely use:
1. Pahimakas – Last Farewell
Sila ay naghanda ng kaunting salu-salo para sa pahimakas ng kanilang anak.
2. Gat – Sir
Nagbigay ng pagsusulit si Gat Antonio kaninang umaga.
3. Yakis – To sharpen
Magpapayakis ako ng kutsilyo mamayang hapon.
4. Badhi – Lines in the palm
Binasa ng manghuhula ang mga badhi ko sa palad.
5. Sambat – Fork
Hugasan mo na ang mga sambat para tayo ay makakain na.
6. Duyog – Eclipse
Sa susunod na linggo ay may magaganap na duyog.
7. Kalumlan – Monthly Period
Kailan ang huling kalumlan mo?
8. Pantablay – Charger
Pakikuha naman ng pantablay sa upuan.
9. Anluwage – Carpenter
Ang mga anluwage ay maghapong nagtatrabaho.
10. Awanggan – Infinity
Hindi magbabago at awanggan ang pagmamahal ko sayo.
